About Gillian

Gillian Allard is a freelance photographic artist and educator based in Suffolk UK.  In 2017, she became the winner of Sky Arts, Master of Photography – series 2.

Gillian’s approach to photography is often experimental and she specialises in bonding her images to alternative surfaces such as stone, wood and beach pebbles.

In 2021, she was awarded an Arts Council, Develop Your Creative Practice grant to research this specialism further which resulted in her installing a large scale portrait on a concrete structure at Ness Point – titled ‘A Lowestoft Man’ at the UK’s most easterly coastal location.  Despite the extremes of weather the portrait remains in good condition.
